Get creative!

21st November 2017

On Thursday 23rd November we will be welcoming Animator, Sara Diaz to our school...

but not for the first time; Sara was once a pupil at St Mary's.

After graduating in Art, Sara gained her Masters in Animation at Bournemouth University and there has been no stopping her since!

She worked on the films Gravity and Guardians of the Galaxy before going to Australia to work on the animation films Pan, Lego Batman and Lego Ninjago.

She is now working in New Zealand on a new film set to be released next year.

Sara will be talking to the whole school about her career as a digital animator.

During her visit, talented artists from across the school will also spend time with Sara in small groups in order to really hone their skills.  In order to do this the children must impress her with their drawings on the theme of “What I want to be when I grow up-in Lego.”  This will be a creative drawing of themselves (as a Lego person) doing their dream job.  Sara will pick the winners and work with them to really bring out their creative talents!
