House changes and British Values at Saint Mary’s.
Saint Mary’s pupils have been rehearsing their core skill of creativity as they work to spread the message of British Values around the school and into the wider community. The process has been lengthy but we are starting to see some real results now.
Recent highlights include:
- Children from Y5 and 6 competing for the chance to visit the Houses of Parliament by creating a presentation on a political figure of their choice.
- A visit to the school from Dame Annette Brooke DBE (shared with Longfleet and St. Joseph’s).
- Y6 children visiting KS1 and delivering our “DRIM” British Values presentation in class.
- Mrs. Thain leading up the school council with some exciting new faces and ideas coming in.
- For Y6, an exploration of the origins of democracy through the study of Classical Greece.
- A new set of house captains sworn in and out on active duty leading their houses.
