Safeguarding and Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care Worker

Mrs Wright

At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we see the wellbeing of our children and staff as a priority. Our Pastoral Care Worker is available for children and parents to talk to about any worries or concerns they may have. We then help children, and their families access the support they need whether that’s through 1 to 1 or small group work in school looking at emotions, building self-esteem and helping self-expression, or through accessing external support.

External support services include parenting classes, Family Outreach Workers, health services, Play Therapy, Counselling and Young Carer’s services. We have seen these really benefit our pupils and their famillies.

We hope that through identifying each child and family’s needs and offering the support that’s required,  we can help make each pupils journey through primary school as successful as possible.

Everyone within our community is encouraged to strive for the highest standards of personal, social and intellectual development.

Our community recognises that each person is unique and our aim is to support each other along our personal journey of faith, treating others with respect and recognising the rights of the child’
Our Child Protection Safeguarding Policy can be found on the Policies page of the website.
