SMOG at Poole Grammar

Catherine, Annaliese, Megan, Angela and Holly (Year 6)

On Tuesday 5th May, the SMOG (St Mary’s Organic Gardening) Club, Miss Brown, Mrs Hickman and Mrs Mills visited Poole Grammar school, to work with staff to plant seeds as part of their ‘Green Week’. The children planted and labelled over 150 vegetable seeds!

The pots were then placed in the greenhouse. Once they have grown bigger, one vegetable plant will be given to each Year 6 student during their transition day at Poole Grammar School. The students will nurture their plant over the Summer holidays, create a recipe to use their vegetable in, cook their recipe and then eat it and share it with others at school.

Mr Watson and his team, from Poole grammar School, were very grateful for our help in planting the seeds. The SMOG club really enjoyed the experience and they were given some vegetable seeds each to take home to nurture.

Thank you to Poole Grammar School for inviting us to help with this project.
