Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Required from September 2017

 Poole Grade F £20661 - £22658 (pro rata)

The Governors of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience of working with both KS1 and KS2 pupils. You will need to be confident in the delivery of learning in the core subjects. In addition any experience of working with EAL children would be a distinct advantage.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm term time plus 5 training days per year. There is a requirement for working until 5pm on a Monday, hours are 32.5 per week.

You will need to:

  •          Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for all pupils.
  •          Have high expectations of learning and behavior and inspire and motivate our children
  •          Be supportive, nurturing and understanding.
  •          Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience.
  •          Communicate well with parents, carers and members of staff, as well as pupils.
  •          Work well as part of a team;
  •          Be willing to contribute to school life outside of the classroom.

Teaching Assistants - Level 2. Poole Grade D. £16781 - £17772 (pro rata)

We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants with experience of working with both KS1and KS2 pupils and also on a 1 to1 basis. You will support teachers by supervising pupils during lesson and break times as well as participating in lesson activities when necessary.

Hours of work for these posts will be:

  • 25 hours during our school day, 8.45 a.m. to 3.15 p.m Monday to Friday

  • 15 hours (mornings only) Monday to Friday

  • 15 hours 1:1 Monday to Friday

     All roles will be term time plus 5 training days per year.

You will need to possess:

  • School experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A commitment to supporting young people

  • Ability to work on your own and to cooperate as a team player

  • Have a flexible/ 'do what it takes' approach to work

  • Have experience of delivering interventions eg. ELSA, First Class at Number or be willing to undertake training
