Trophy comes to School

On Wednesday 2nd December we were very fortunate to host the Barclay’s Premier League Trophy at St. Mary’s.

This all came about thanks to Danny Jones who works for Barclay’s House. As a former pupil and member of St. Mary’s Church, Danny asked if we would like to host the trophy for the afternoon, an opportunity which we couldn’t turn down!

Somehow, we managed to get the whole of the school through to see the trophy, which the three security guards were amazed by! The children were very excited and we were able to take photos so that they don’t forget this special occasion. (Available to download below)

It shone immaculately in all its glory. Next to the trophy were three gallant guards watching each and every one of our moves. Inside the guard’s pockets were tasers and gloves in case anyone tried to steal it. Mr Priest, who organised it all, told us if we touched the glimmering cup we would be kicked out. Surrounded by gold and solid silver, the Cup, which was picturesque, had been lifted by many other amazing teams and we would never forget that moment!
