What we did on SID

Year 6

At 2pm, we will be watching SID TV

Then we will take a safer internet quiz and discuss our answers

Finally, we will create safer internet pledges on paper and video them.

What we did in Year 6

The children came together as a whole year group and watched a thought provoking film about the dangers of using the internet if the user is not careful. However, as Mrs. Wrann pointed out, there was not a single person who would want to go back in time and not have internet anymore!!  So, the staying safe message was made clear but the year group also took time to think of the wonderful opportunities the internet gives.

Following this, we moved back upstairs and made posters with "pledges" to formalise in writing what we had discussed in the hall.  These promises were made individually so that they were all personalised and relevant.

Year 4

We will be watching the SID TV. Afterwards, we will have a class discussion about staying safe online.

Year 5

We will play the Start Riders game on the ThinkuKnow website (8-10) and complete a ‘cyberbullying’ form/questionnaire before writing an internet safety pledge taken from the ‘safer internet’ website.
