PTA Meet and Greet - Wednesday 7th November from 7pm-8.30pm at the Shah of Persia.

This term is one of my favourites, now that Autumn seems to have well and truly made itself known, there seems to be a succession of social events and children's activities which coincide with this exciting time; school nativities, school concerts, the Christmas fair, movie night- there is so much to remember in addition to the normal routine!

As you know, the PTA at St Mary's is a small but very dedicated group of parents, teachers and carers who create events which add fun to the school and also help out financially, where the school is restricted by funding.

We are always on the look out for new members and helpers at our events and crucially, we couldn't put on events without volunteers to assist; we know we tell you this often, but it's very true!

We know that everyone is busy but 'many hands make light work', so we invite you to come along and meet the existing PTA team to see how you can get involved on Wednesday 7th November from 7pm-8.30pm at the Shah of Persia.

We aren't asking that you sign up to become a full committee member (although that would be great!) but if you are able to offer a little time to help at a disco, run a stall at our Christmas Fair, serve tea and coffee at a nativity or help plan an event, your contribution will be hugely appreciated by us and our children.

We are very friendly and have children in all year groups, from Foundation to year 6, so come along, grab a drink and make yourself some new friends too!

If you have any questions you can contact me at message us via our Facebook Group (St Marys Catholic Primary PTA Poole). If you cannot attend next Wednesday but do wish to find out more please send me a message and I will be happy to meet with you another time.

We look forward to meeting you!

Rosie Lockyer, PTA Chair.

As parents you are automatically a member of the PTA but we have a dedicated and enthusiastic committee made up of parents and staff. We aim to raise money for specific projects and for smaller items by organizing fun events for the children and encouraging everyone to participate in the school community.
Some of the events held  were the Summer fair, Christmas sparkle, leavers disco, KS1 and KS2 disco’s which are always very popular with the children. We also support the music department by providing refreshments at the Summer and Christmas concerts and the nativity plays.
Funds raised from these helped us reach our £10,000 target to help buy the minibus, purchase some fantastic samba equipment for the music department, costumes for the nativity, play equipment and subsidising school trips.  The latest purchase is the 10-ft Christmas tree and decorations.
We are currently talking to our local Sainsbury's store about working with the community on future projects.
We always welcome new ideas so please get in touch if you any suggestions on fundraising events.
As ever we are only successful because of your support so if you can help at events please come forward!
